As a business owner, you shouldn’t fear competition because competition will always exist. Whether it’s from businesses selling the same product or different ones, competition will always exist. People who say something can’t be done often don’t want competition because they fear change and innovation.
The worst attitude is believing that something can’t be done simply because it hasn’t been done before, or that things must be done in old ways only. If everyone thought like that, there wouldn’t be any new inventions, products, or even new businesses in the world.
Always seeking new and better ways to do business is an effective way to get ahead of your competition. Simply opening a shop and waiting by the door won’t bring in sales. You need to invest time and money wisely to develop effective methods to attract customers and make money. The best advantage is to find better ways to reach and sell to your customers. Always look for new ways to do old things.
For example, in my case, I sell cool roof tiles that reduce building heat. However, customers might also consider alternatives such as heat reduction paint or installing a shed above the roof. In this situation, businesses like paint shops and welding workshops, which are quite different from my own, become competitors.
Try to approach the same problem in a new and different way
If you are a telecaller, you will face competition from others in the same role. To beat the competition, all you have to do is try to approach the same problem in a new and different way. For example, in a telecaller job, you’re often given a list of contacts or a directory to call prospects and sell products. Typically, your peers start calling from the beginning of the list (starting with A), leading to high competition where multiple people may call the same number. To stand out, starting from the middle of the list can give you a better chance of being the first to contact those prospects and secure more orders before your peers reach them.
